Our Background

​Hartland Horticulture has been created by Justin Hartley who has managed Moonacre's farm for a total of seven years and created his own farm known as Duck Foot Farm. Prior to organic farming, Justin owned and operated a garden maintenance business in the Southern Highlands servicing high end properties as well as regular ongoing maintenance work. Justin grew up in Kiama and decided to trade the waves for the waterfalls in 2002 and started his horticulture life with an apprenticeship at Craigieburn resort in Bowral. Justin then spent 3 years working at Alpine nursery in Dual and eventually started his own business in 2010. Justin then decided to get into organic fruit and vegetable farming. After 10 years of farming his back into landscape gardening in the southern Highlands.  Justin still has a passion for fresh organic produce and encourages local and personal resilience by actively growing fresh organic produce and getting your hands and feet in contact with the soil.
